Country Elegance at Cowdray House

✨ Meet Birdie

Birdie’s wedding at Cowdray House was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and relaxed countryside luxury. With its sweeping grounds and stunning interiors, it created the most beautiful setting for a wedding morning filled with excitement, emotion and a few unforgettable moments.

All of the beautiful photos featured here were captured by the incredibly talented Salsabil Morrison.

✨ The Bridal Vision

Birdie and I actually worked together on two hair trials before the big day. Originally, she imagined wearing her hair up, but after experimenting with a few styles she decided to switch things up completely and wear it down in glamorous Hollywood waves.
With her incredible long blonde hair, the final look was absolutely stunning — sleek and smooth at the front with soft, polished waves cascading down the back. Her hair was so glossy and healthy that the style looked effortlessly glamorous.

One of Birdie’s main concerns was whether the curls would hold all day. At her second trial we tested the longevity and she was delighted to see they lasted beautifully. Looking back at the wedding photos, it’s safe to say the waves held right through to the late-night dancing.

šŸ’„ Creating the Look

Birdie wanted her makeup to feel natural, soft and elegant.

As a fair bride, she was slightly nervous about looking too orange or overly made up (something I hear quite often). My aim was to enhance her natural features while keeping her skin looking fresh and luminous.

With her beautiful porcelain complexion, the finished result was incredibly delicate and radiant. She truly looked flawless and timeless.

The makeup was designed to last the entire day, and despite a few emotional moments (and plenty of happy tears), it stayed perfectly in place.

🌸 Wedding Day Details

Birdie’s wedding morning was filled with emotion. She was understandably feeling the nerves and excitement that come with such a special day, but the atmosphere remained calm and joyful throughout. One particularly adorable guest also joined the preparations - her whippet, who made an appearance in a few of the photos and definitely added to the fun.

Later in the evening, Birdie surprised everyone with an outfit change, swapping into a shorter dress that was perfect for the dance floor and allowed her to celebrate the night away in style.

From the Bride:

ā€œI was fortunate enough to have Ruby to do my hair and makeup for my wedding day. She had been highly recommended by a friend and I was thrilled with the service she provided. From the initial communications, to the trials and the finished product on the day, Ruby worked hard to ensure she created the exact look I was after. The hair and makeup was natural and complementary and it lasted all day (and night), through laughter, tears and dance floor sweat! (Sorry, not sorry!)

Ruby is a pleasure to have around — friendly, relatable and calm. Exactly what you need for your big day. Her team of other artists are equally professional. I would highly recommend her, you will not find better than Ruby. It was a pleasure to have her with me on my special day.ā€
